Christmast -> Christmas

Who buys *themselves* a Christmas present...?

I agree, it would be strange to buy oneself a Christmas present. However, I just translated from German. I wonder if the other translations are the same?

The German is Muiriel's. She's known for having an interesting sense of humor in her sentences (so that's probably why).

I offer myself Christmas presents all the time. Why wait for Christmas?

Yea, I should go buy myself a nice Christmas present tonight.

More interesting to me than why someone would buy themselves a Christmas present, is why someone would buy a popcorn machine. Yuck, I get no pleasure from eating popcorn. Furthermore, I believe it should be banned from all cinemas. In fact, my favourite cinemas are those which don't sell popcorn at all.

You should probably take that up with Muiriel.

I fully sympathise, wma, since I am the same: I just shun all cinema venues that stink of this disgusting pop-corn oil, and that are usually nerve-racking with these nutters muching around. That means 95% of cinemas here in Brussels...

I've found small art-house cinemas to be the best for a sans-popcorn experience.

exactly!
