That's what Google Translate says, but ...

明るかったら does not imply a comparison like "brighter" does.

Paul Blay's suggested change to his own translation would be better, though I'm not sure his present translation would be considered wrong.

Personally, though, I'd say "If it were ~" instead of "If it was ~."
