Maybe something like this would sound more natural?
"I've traveled a lot thanks to my job. In the last few years, I've visited eleven countries."

The english sentence above is from an english dictionary book that contains explanation about phrasal verbs in sentences examples. I think is not possible that a native english book make mistakes.
Seriously: is this sentence really wrong?
Cueyayotl: i'd prefer using "get about" instead of "travel" in this sentence, because I was making a list of sentences with the phrasal verb "to get above" in order to study by "tematica".

Yes, it sounds like a native Spanish speaker translated it. And yes, even native language textbooks DO make mistakes, often when a native speaker has to switch languages and doesn't do so completely, so that they write a sentence in their native language incorrectly without realizing it.
If you'd like to use the phrasal verb "get about", I would say:
"I've gotten around a lot thanks to my job. In the last few years, I've visited eleven countries." (or better yet: substitute 'visited' with 'traveled to')
