Since "ذ" is much rarer than "د", Arabs tend to confuse between them. Actually, in many dialects, "ذ" is always pronounced as "د". Also, "ث" is pronounced as "ت", and "ظ" is pronounced as "ض".

This is what may be called the plosivization of Arabic fricatives. It is tolerated in dialect but absolutely not in writing classical Arabic.

Interesting. Thanks. Do you think it's also acceptable in Classical Arabic to mix ه with ة, for example درجه instead of درجة?
