Es ist der "Ersatzinfinitiv", der bei Verben wie sehen, hören, fühlen...verwendet werden kann - genausogut kann man in diesem Fall aber auch "gesehen" sagen.

(Ich habe die Wortstellung ausgebessert, zuerst war's nicht Standard, besonders nicht, wenn der Ersatzinfinitiv verwendet wird)

Der Satz #710788 ist, glaube ich, ein bisschen anders. Hier "ersetzt" der Infinitiv nämlich nicht "gehört";
Ersatzinfinitive wären: Wir haben den Vogel singen hören können" (statt gekonnt, obligatorisch) oder "Wir haben den Vogel singen hören." (statt "gehört", möglich, aber nicht notwendig)

Oder täusche ich mich?

Du hast sicher recht. Wenn ich länger über dieses Phänomen nachdenke falle ich sowieso von der Drehscheibe. (Grins)

Ist es was Änliches wie bei "lassen" (in gewissen Fällen lassen statt gelassen) oder ist das auch ein anderes Thema?

Ähnlich ist es bestimmt. (Zu mehr wage ich mich nicht vor.)
