Embora gramaticalmente admissível, "pôde", nesse contexto, me parece ilógico, como se de fato alguém tivesse dado um tiro nas próprias costas. Que achas?

Realmente, eu deveria ter usado "poderia" já que é a tradução que faz mais sentido, nem pensei nisso na hora.

Mas imagine que você está assistindo a um noticiário e de repente aparece uma reportagem sobre alguém que se matou com um tiro nas próprias costas, você conta isso para um amigo e ele responde imediatamente com a frase acima...

Neste contexto parece fazer mais sentido o "pôde". É claro, estou apenas inventando um cenário improvável para desculpar minha escolha, vou editar a frase.
