Mit dem Genitiv hatte es der Max Ehrmann nicht so, oder?

(Trotz all ihres Scheins, der Plackerei und der zerbrochenen Träume ...)

Max Ehrmann war Amerikaner, und hat den Text auf Englisch verfasst. Der Satz ist eine Übersetzung ins Deutsche. Der Dativ nach trotz ist durchaus korrekt, wenngleich seltener als der Genitiv.

(Es steht jedem / jeder frei, eine zweite Übersetzung des englischen Satzes hinzuzufügen. Etwa unter Verwendung des Genitivs. Je mehr Übersetzungen, desto besser für Tatoeba.)
