Der Satz an sich ist in Ordnung.
("téléphoner à qn" kann, glaube ich, sowohl "jemanden anrufen" als auch "mit jemandem telefonieren" bedeuten)

"mit jemandem telefonieren" klingt mir, wie es zwei Menschen auf der gleichen Seite stände, und die beide zusammen eine dritte Person anrufen wöllten.

"mit jemandem telefonieren": Theoretisch wäre diese Interpretation möglich, aber man nimmt üblicherweise an, dass sich die Personen an verschiedenen Enden der Leitung befinden. :)
