shouldn't it be "he must have already understood it."?

Thanks. I'm still not quite sure if this is really a good translation. Literally, it would be "he will have already understood it", but that sounds somewhat unnatural.

This sentence implies that the speaker believes that "he" really has understood it already. Does the Spanish sentence imply the same thing? (I thought it implied that the speaker believes that "he" must be going to understand it, but that he hasn't necessarily already.)

the Spanish sentence implies that the speaker believes that "he" must have already understood it.
In Spanish we could also say "ya debe de haberlo entendido" and the meaning would be the same.
