Vegna þess að fólk kann að vera mis-þolinmótt og það er ekki alltaf hægt að segja að einhver sé þolinmóður eða ekki, mætti einnig segja annaðhvort:

„Ég elska hana vegna þess hve þolinmóð hún er.“, eða
„Ég elska hana vegna þess hvað hún er þolinmóð.“

til að lýsa því að það sé ekki bara þolinmæðin sem veldur ástinni, heldur stig þolinmæðinnar.
