*Normalerweise* bedeutet "last night" fast immer vor Mitternacht, und dann sagt man auf Deutsch fast immer "gestern Abend". In diesem speziellen Fall ist aber auch "letzte Nacht" richtig und sogar wahrscheinlicher.
