well, it's one of the interpretations, no?

These hipsters did not have wifi or starbucks

Hipsters are absolutely not hippies. Hipsters are still extant today, whereas hippies were mostly a 60s or 70s phenomenon. There is also a 1940s definition of hipster, but that's entirely different than the hipster we know today.

well, we still call them that today. Flowery shirts are still all the rage...

besides, it's not hipsters, but "pretend hipsters"...

>I definitely didn't have hippies in mind when I wrote the sentence. They're entirely different people.
What you had in mind is irrelevant. A sentence has its own existence...
I created the variant anyway. Whjat you wanted to mean, is "bobo" in French.

your link relates to hipsters, not "pretend hipsters", surely they're different...

well, my Collins dictionary also states that hipsters are "hippies" so that makes 2 references in that direction, when we are still awaiting for any reference to the contrary...How many more shall I find? And how many will you produce and when?

and what word would you pick for the german translation?

>Möchtegern-Hipster
It's called anglophilia...Can't Germans coin their own new words ?
