Die amerikanische Aussprache wird, glaube ich, erst seit einiger Zeit tradiert. Davor wurde es so ausgesprochen, wie es geschrieben wird. (Ich würde es aus Prinzip nie „Ämäzonn“ aussprechen. ☺)
