creo que en este caso convendría escribir el pronombre (ella dio a luz), pues o si no se oye como si el sujeto fuera "la semana pasada"

Hablando castellano como lengua madre se entiende esta frase perfectamente. Nadie entendería que quien da a luz es una semana. No ricemos el rizo. Gracias por vuestros comentarios.
