I added a needs-native-check-tag.
Anyway, you should transcribe names in Katakana, especially if you're talking about the evangelists, which I suppose. They aren't of English origin and their names change throughout the languages.

マタイ、マルコ、ルカ、ヨハネ are the Japanese names of the evangelists.

Thanks so much for your help, Fingerhutさん! I'm a newbie on this site... how can the katakana get put onto the sentence itself? Thx. 。。。。[edit] I think I've managed now OK.

Then let me welcome you to this site, jamesforsyth! :-)
As the purpose of this site is to offer natural sounding sentences, I'm tagging all sentences I added which aren't in my mother tongue as well, just to make sure that they are read through again (well, mostly I'm translating to my mothertongue anyway). If you feel like proofreading other people's sentences you can deliberately search the sentences by their tag. (@Needs Native Check or @needs check)

Thanks again Fingerhutさん! I'm glad to receive advice on how to search for and edit sentences with those tags. I don't know how you were notified of my previous note. It wasn't a message, but a note... is there some mechanism whereby replies to messages and sentences are notified? Does it go to your email box? Thx again.

Yes, you can edit your profile and adjust notifications. I get notifications via email for every new comment on a sentence where I posted a comment as well.
