Se puede decir ruido*, pero "no escucharse un alma" es una frase hecha que se dice en castellano con el mismo significado, creo yo.

hmm normalmente yo oigo "no se escucha un alma" cuando se refiere a ninguna persona, pero puede haber animales o viento, mientras que "no se escucha/oye un ruido" es no oírse absolutamente nada. Pero si tú las usas indistintamente, no digo nada ;)
