I think this should say 'I found the problem easy' or 'I found that the problem was easy.'
To me, "I found the problem was easy." is just a shorter alternative to "I found that the problem was easy." But I can't think of any rule about when we can omit the pronoun and could be convinced otherwise. Anyone else care to comment?
