In my experience in the Netherlands, you can catch 2 different train types: the kind that stops at all the stops, or the direct train. You could arrive too early if you took the direct train rather than the one that has all the stops, even if it leaves a bit later. An actual Dutch person would know better though.

That can happen here in Japan, too. However, we would likely mention that the later train was an express train.

Good point! I don't know why I never thought of them as express trains...The regular (slow) ones there are called Sprinters, which always confused me.

Pli bone estus, ke la aŭtoro de la nederlanda frazo aldonus 'express" al sia frazo. Mi avertis lin pri la diskuto. Mi supozas, ke la angliginto aldonis tiun vorton en sia traduko por igi la iom misteran frazon pli komprenebla.
Se Marijnkp ne volas aldoni la vorton, ni malligu la tradukojn.
