What does this sentence mean? I can understand "She's opening the window", but Simple Present here? Can anyone please provide a context where this sentence is appropriate?

Possible context using simple present, rather than continuing present (she's opening the window).
For example describing someone coming into a room and opening the window.
"She opens the door. She comes into the room and (she) opens the window."
I hope this is of some help to you.

Кстати, это называется простое повествовательное (narrative): описывается последовательность действий без сосредоточения на длительности какого-либо одного из них, поэтому употребляется Simple (плюс оно ещё и короче звучит), а не Progressive.

Thank you, patgfisher and Ooneykcall.
Are such "narrative" sentences considered good at Tatoeba?
Judging by http://blog.tatoeba.org/2010/08...f-content.html they are.

I believe these types of sentences are appropriate in Tatoeba because they are sentences that native speakers would use (in the appropriate context), are grammatically correct etc.
