The sentence is OK to a native now. It does need the ligature <-ng> between the two phrases. I adopted it.

Interesting, Google Translate suggested "...kitang maging..." (said it was "community verified"), as it is now, but a HiNative contributor from the Phillipines suggested "...kita maging...", so I sided with the HiNative user

On another note, Filipino "salamat" looks very similar to Indonesian/Malay "selamat", but apparently have different etymologies
Yet both are one of the first words you hear in those languages

Yeah, <salamat> is one of the first things to learn in Tagalog. For politeness or emphasis, you say <salamat hô> or <salamat pô>. In return, it is formal to say <waláng anumán>. (In Tatoeba, as is usual in writing, contributors don't use accents.)

It's understandable. But the second line should be "Gusto kitang matutuhan tungkol sa Tagalog sa Chavacano!"
