On an additional note, "studies" would sound more natural to me (if that doesn't ruin the translation).
in French, both singular and plural are possible, depending on what is being studied and emphasised.
Maybe in British it's different, but for me if "study" is singular, then there's an implication of "study of what?", while "studies" is akin to "studying".
@saeb, blay_paul: What do the Arabic/Japanese ones say?
I'd say 'studies' would match the Japanese better. The Japanese is also past tense, FWIW.
