I want to know, when is lunchtime and when is time for dinner?
I think, that lunchtime is around 12 o'clock. Thanks!

dinner is sometimes the same time as lunchtime...

Espi Espi February 11, 2012 February 11, 2012 at 11:58:12 PM UTC link Permalink

And is there an other name for eating in the evening than dinner?

Espi Espi February 12, 2012 February 12, 2012 at 12:12:01 AM UTC link Permalink

Or, could it be: "They eat dinner at twelve o'clock." (in the evening)? What means the Chinese sentence? Who can help?

the Chinese sentence says at night

Does "dinner" here mean the meal you eat at noon time or a little after that? :)

Espi Espi February 12, 2012 February 12, 2012 at 12:26:36 AM UTC link Permalink

@Eldad: Now I think in the late evening.

And now some sentences have to be changed, isn't it?

@Shishir: ¡Muchas gracias Shishir!

In the Spanish sentence #628642, Dejo says that it can mean both...

In many English speaking regions, "dinner" is midday meal. The evening's meal is "supper".

Eldad Eldad February 12, 2012 February 12, 2012 at 10:07:20 AM UTC link Permalink

I'll add another variant for the meal which is eaten in midday.
