نرغب بالنجاح*
?
I think it's fine كل منا يرغب
كل منا يرغب is indeed fine, but that's not what is written there :)
yup but it essentially sounds the same to me
كلنا is "all of us" (if I'm not mistaken), so it requires a verb in the plural.
"kullun minna" would indeed require a verb in the singular.
no really it's fine, kulluna isn't a verb or a modifier or anything that necessitates that anything agree with it
see: http://bit.ly/y9Ah1T
I believe I know what seems to be the problem here:
alkull yarghabu - here there should be a verb in the singular.
But with "kulluna" - doesn't it change the situation, to suggest that it's plural rather than singular?
I don't know what's wrong with your link, but I can't see the pages: I'm taken to a Google search page, with no hits at all.
Intesting...
See this:
https://www.google.com/search?s...iw=747&bih=498
from a strict grammatical point of view كل takes a مضاف إليه which is what would be required to agree in number and gender...كلنا already has its مضاف إليه which is نا and is thus a separate entity that requires nothing to agree with it grammatically
see: http://www.diwanalarab.com/spip.php?article21095
"إذا كان المضاف إليه بعدها معرفةً، جازت المطابقةُ والإفرادُ فيقال مثلاً: [كلُّهم حضروا] و [كلُّهم حضر]"
not that great of a reference but whatever
no idea why the link isn't working for you but try "كلنا يعرف" in a google books search...it gets ample results in published material...
Yes, I saw the results already (I took the words out of your link, manually). Then I also found what I quoted above (hope you saw it, two or three comments further up).
Anyhow, I read your recent comments and I see what you mean. Thanks.
>Then I also found what I quoted above (hope you saw it, two or three comments further up).
yup seen it, just because it has more results doesn't mean that it's better or more correct, might be used more but even that is debatable.
Yes, I agree.
Anyhow, I did learn from our discussion some new things. Thanks.
And thanks for adding the extra variants with what we discussed above :)
you're welcome :)
me too...had to look up why it sounded ok to me >.<
