Currently I'm working with Tatoeba's sentences files, just to make some special queries, and for personal investigation purposes.
The fact is that I'm dealing with "sentences nets" (or "isolated subgrafs"), and I'm frequently finding out abnormally huge nets with sentences completely unrelated, which of course, may just be coincidences according to the language (for example, the word どうぞ), incidental, or malicious.
For example, there's a huge net including sentence 436281: "I agree" that includes examples such as "No problem" "Got it" "I know" "It's always been that way" "Yes, she will" "This is always the way it has been" "That doesn't matter" "Please" "You go first" "Not at all", and it goes on and on.
Can you follow these connections on the website? I had a similar problem with finding translations, it turned out it was a bug in my script.

I've been locating many of these and requesting (or at least suggesting) for particular unlinkings of inaccurate translations that bring together two huge nets.
I have to limit myself to suggest these, because in the end it's more for the sake of easing the burden to graph connectivity algorithms than for expedite translations : )

Je proteste de la manière la plus véhémente contre Swift, gestionnaire du Corpus, qui non seulement passe son temps à me harceler et m'insulter, mais abuse de ses pouvoirs en appliquant les étiquettes qu'il souhaite sur les phrases et en supprimant celles des autres, sans leur consentement.
J'ai déjà demandé que son statut de gestionnaire du corpus, dont il se montre ainsi indigne, lui soit retiré. Je réitère cette demande expressément.
Parallèlement, je proteste contre le fait que les règles de modération soient systématiquement perverties par certains gestionnaires qui modifient des phrases sans accord préalable de leurs propriétaires.
J'ai ainsi demandé à CK des explications sur des modifications unilatérales inexpliquées, sans qu'il daigne répondre.
Je pense que lorsqu'un gestionnaire du corpus abuse ainsi de son autorité sans s'en expliquer, son statut devrait être immédiatement révoqué, car c'est toute la confiance dans le service qui est en jeu.
Rappel: je voudrais que Swift arrête de supprimer les étiquettes que j'appose sur les phrases ( françaises, langue qu'il ne parle pas...) et que soient définies les règles de suppression de ces étiquettes.
De quel droit fait-il cela ?
Qu'est-ce que c'est que cette dictature ?
Pourquoi des anglophones définissent-ils seuls les étiquettes autorisées et non autorisées (XXX, not for safe search,...) avec un total mépris pour les autres cultures et normes sociales ?

What about translating the tags and make them language-independent? That way one could use the same tag, which has different translations depending on the menu language one uses.
Ce n'est pas une question de langue mais de norme sociale. Les étiquettes sur Tatoeba sont aujourd'hui une véritable prison de l'esprit contrôlée uniquement par Swift' qui se comporte en dictateur absolu.
Tu devrais peut-être prendre un peu de perspective. Peut-être qu'il y a une raison pour laquelle Swift a retiré ces étiquettes...
Il n'en a aucun droit.

the auto-detection is currently off because we were relying on a google API that has been closed. I'm on the way to produce our own auto-detection system, but waiting for this, users have to specify manually the language (note that it keeps the last language you've contributed in)

Ah I see. Maybe it would have been cool to warn users about this, similar to the way Twitter or Facebook mention new functionalities with a popup. I suppose that like me, many users will not recognize they post new sentences in Afrikaans. We might run into big problems with our sentence database if users are unaware of this.

Je me suis déconnecté et ensuite j'ai essayé de revenir en utilisant l'espéranto ... en vain.
Il y a un tas de signes illisibles pour moi, et le nom de sacredceltic, qui est insulté par là.
Entretemps j'avais travaillé pendant des heures pour réparer la traduction chez Launchpad :(
Entretemps j'ai remarqué que la version française est aussi atteinte.
Les traductions sont versionnées, je vais annuler les changements de cette semaine.

non, sacredceltic already noticed it earlier on the wall. He assumed that it probably was boracasli or some other troll. It's because the tatoeba launchpad is open to all, so you could easily correct it there (if noone already did) but you have to wait for an update to see the effect (it's not live).
I assumed nothing. In Launchpad, translations are signed.
The anti-esperanto lobby is just becoming hysterical on Tatoeba...

But do you think that this was anti-esperantic? Or was this just vandalism like usual?
Boracasli, along with other contributors and corpus maintainers, has shown hysterical anti-Esperanto attitude from the beginning, writing anti-Esperanto sentences and comments on Tatoeba, that are probably still there.
