The audio does not match the sentence (place/places).

I'd suggest a small correction to this sentence:
Tom likes Boston better than any other place he's lived in.

Eldad, you can add that as an alternate translation for the Hebrew, assuming it matches.

Note the way the current sentence is worded is not uncommon.

I'll gladly add it, but I would anyhow appreciate your native speaker's opinion about my comment.

Eldad Eldad January 4, 2015 January 4, 2015 at 11:26:00 AM UTC flag Report link Permalink

OK, read it (you added it after I read your first comment).
It doesn't seem a proper wording to me, but if this is how people write, then so be it.

Only to explain my comment above, I believe you can live an experience, but you cannot live a place.

Eldad Eldad January 4, 2015 January 4, 2015 at 11:35:26 AM UTC flag Report link Permalink

And what about the following wording:
Tom likes Boston better than any other place where he's lived.

Eldad Eldad January 4, 2015 January 4, 2015 at 11:41:51 AM UTC flag Report link Permalink

OK, never mind. If this is how people write, it's probably an accepted wording. I'll add my other variant with "where" as a rendition of the Hebrew.

It seems that relative adverbs can be omitted in English.

#19922 Is there a place (that/where) I can smoke?
#1694899 John says he wants to die in the same place (that/where) he was born.
#1747577 When was the last time (that/when) you swam?
#2392581 I remember the day (that/when) I met Tom.
#3178542 That's the reason (that/why) we must fight.
#2935128 The reason (that/why) Tom got sick was because he overate.

Thanks. Actually, I agree with all of the above (and none of them sounds strange or non-grammatical to me). I cannot pinpoint the difference, but I feel the sentence in question is a little bit different than all the other sentences you cited.

Eldad Eldad January 4, 2015 January 4, 2015 at 11:56:09 AM UTC flag Report link Permalink

OK, this sentence:
John says he wants to die in the same place (that/where) he was born.
is very similar to the above. And it doesn't seem wrong to me. So, maybe it's me. ☺

What would native speakers say about this sentence?

#2754538 The city I grew up is very beautiful.
