@Marcelo, should we unlink it from the English original?

cómo* :)

"Tom said he understood how you were feeling." is not correct. In Spanish, it should be
"Tom dijo que entiende como te SENTÍAS.", not "sientes".

marcelostockle marcelostockle February 21, 2012 February 21, 2012 at 12:24:15 AM UTC link Permalink

and the Esperanto translation is wrong too
"Tom diris, ke li komprenas kiel vi volas." is
"Tom dijo que entiende/sabe lo que QUIERES.", not "sientes".

Wait a minute... :))
I left many comments there... :)
One for the Esperanto sentence to be corrected, plus a tag "@change".

Second, my question re this sentence referred to its original English:
Tom says he understands how you feel.
(maybe I misunderstood something in the Spanish).

Third, I believe the English sentence you mentioned could not necessarily be rendered in Spanish the way you suggested. English behaves a bit different than Spanish.

"Tom dijo", ¿o "Tom dice"?

aaaaaah, eso es un punto importante!
no me había fijado en ese error tan grave

the matter, is that, I translated from Japanese, and linked to English, without noticing that the Japanese-English translation needs correction

Eldad Eldad February 21, 2012 February 21, 2012 at 12:36:39 AM UTC link Permalink

Well, it all started with dijo > dice or vice versa.
Maybe it's better to unlink it and relink to whatever you deem best.

Japanese-Spanish translation is correct.
Japanese-English needs correction
you're English translation sounds strange at first, but then I remind some differences in indirect speech between both languages that might render this correct.

marcelostockle marcelostockle February 21, 2012 February 21, 2012 at 12:40:19 AM UTC link Permalink

and now, Esperanto-Spanish is correct too

Eldad Eldad February 21, 2012 February 21, 2012 at 12:42:18 AM UTC link Permalink

Yes, my comment there helped; and yes, it's the indirect speech which is different.
