hmmm... I think, I'd rather asked to not use calligraphy in this case.

I agree with sharptoothed. We use the "cursive" for romaji written in a connecting fashion. See https://commons.wikimedia.org/w...ra_Cursiva.png for an example.

For Japanese, we use the word "calligraphy". The example above is one of calligraphy.

I think a sentence like, "I can't read Japanese calligraphy, so could you please write in standard style?" might be better if talking about calligraphy. There isn't a perfect word in English for "kaisho" that I know of. Here's the above sentence: http://tatoeba.org/eng/sentences/show/2286977
