On devrait utiliser « c'est » au lieu de « il est ».
C'est le mari de ma sœur. C'est mon beau-frère.

La "règle" à retenir c'est :
c'est => identification. (C'est un homme. quoi ?)
il est => description. (Il est grand. comment ?)
