The translation is fine. It's obviously not Bob's grandfather.

Oh I see, I didn't think of it in that context. Maybe the meaning of the Japanese sentence could be changed a little to make the meaning clearer as a standalone sentence?

It might be best to leave it. It's not a bad thing to make people puzzle a little over a sentence. It would be unreal to have just sentences that were simple and unambiguous.
