"Verbannung" ist ein etwas älterer Begriff. Aktueller wäre "Ausweisung".

Ich bewundere diesen Versuch, weil ich weiß, dass es nicht immer einfach ist, dem Original gerecht zu werden *und* einen guten deutschen Satz zu formen. Das Problem ist nur, dass es 'Verbannung' nicht mehr gibt:

"Im modernen Straf- und Polizeirecht findet sich [Verbannung] nur noch in der Form der Deportation und der Ausweisung."

Comment: "Verbannung"="banishment" is the practice used in archaic times, contemporary laws talks about "Ausweisung", cf. the other German translation.
