Там в оригинале не "как дома", а "дома".

Так не буквально же дома, а именно как дома. Всё-таки "я чувствую себя здесь как дома", а не "я чувствую себя здесь дома". Хотя и второе вероятно, но первого всё-таки больше, при том что смысл в принципе одинаков.

Я поняла так, что когда домой приезжаешь, достаточно какой-то небольшой детали, чтобы почувствовать, что ты дома...
Но в каком именно значении они сами ее употребляют, я не знаю.

Это по-русски обычно ставят здесь "как", в английском нет: Feel yourself at home (ну это если не make, конечно, что бывает в этой фразе не в пример чаще) ~ Чувствуй(те) себя как дома. В принципе, это и "дома", и "как дома" по ситуации.
