Thanks. Could you explain the difference, i.e., why "son nom" is not used in this context?

Parce que la possession par le sujet est toujours implicite en français :
I brush MY teeth => je me lave LES dents
MY back hurts => j'ai mal AU dos
I broke MY leg => je me suis cassé LA jambe
Il a changé DE boulot...
"Il a changé son nom" donne l'impression qu'il a changé le nom de quelqu'un d'autre, ce qui n'a pas beaucoup de sens...
