Hi Duran,
Please correct me if I'm wrong:
Turkish has only one word for "door" and for "gate":
kapı.

Gate means " büyük kapı", door means "normal kapı." We say "kapı" for both of them.

One more question in this respect:
"kapalı" means "closed". How do you say "locked" (i.e., the door was locked, the gate was locked)?
