I'm not sure, so I'll appreciate your explanation in case I'm wrong.
Indeed, "traitor" is "vatan haini", but the term as used here doesn't have to refer to one's home country. Could "hain" also suffice? Would it mean something a bit different?
According to this Italian saying, the translators betray their own language, not their country.
