Proper English, Shmoper English. Nobody sane speaks using so-called "proper" English.

I'm not saying everybody needs to be completely proper all the time. Nevertheless, it's important to know what IS proper so you can be when you have to.

Tatoeba has no requirement for absolutely formal English. I'd say that most people here would prefer sentences to be natural, not obeying obscure and silly rules.
