
I'm not sure that "vaya" can be translated as some.

It is an equivalent expression:
"Some man (YOU are)." = "Vaya hombre (que eres)."

It has a similar idea. To me it seems like I would use "vaya" when there was a particular action that made me think less of the person, where "qué poco" would be more general, or if it were a series of actions or qualities of the person that made me think less of them. That's what I feel, anyway.
