Carlos, essa frase é possível se, por exemplo, em uma reunião, todos começam a falar em alemão mesmo sabendo que, digamos, a presidente e vice são holandesas.

Certo. Você leu bem meu comentário? Quando Ricardo diz "Embora elas fossem holandesas", é como se dissesse, penso eu, que TODAS aquelas pessoas eram holandesas (mulheres), não havendo razão para concluir com "TODOS conversavam em alemão".
E foi por isso que sugeri a segunda redação, que trataria de um um grupo de holandesas entre outras pessoas...

P.S. - Acabo de ver que Ricardo já alterou a frase. Agradeço a ambos.
