It's the name of the book (in the plural), so should it have a verb in the plural as well, rather than a verb in the singular, as any other book?

Bonne question. En fait non.

Une explication ici http://books.google.be/books?id...0verbe&f=false

Merci beaucoup.
For some reason, the link doesn't open. Can you recheck it?

PS. Only to make sure I understood, you meant to say the verb should be in the plural although it's a name of a book (usually referred to in the singular).

it works for me...maybe you have exceeded your credit on that book from Grévisse...Not kidding, I realised that Google limits the number of times you can view extracts from the same book...you'll have to clean your Google cookies or some other trick...

What it states is the following :

If the title is in the plural, then the verb is plurialised, except if the title is a full sentence, such as « Les Dieux ont soifs »...

I didn't know that rule, and I doubt I ever learnt it, to say the truth, but applied it subconsciously, as so many other rules that natives do apply, because that's the way they always heard it. I guess I have to thank my Mom and Dad...
