Those sentences aren't grammatical in toki pona or have very obscure meanings (suwi li ko kama telo = the candy is a wet future paste). You don't have to express what the chocolate was before turning into telo or ko. But you could express this using either of these:
1. suwi li ko. ona li kama telo.
2. suwi li kama telo tan ko.

"kama ko" means "becomes a paste". I choose ko instead of telo because I don't perceive melted chocolate as a telo (water, liquid, beverage) but as a ko "paste, clay, semi-solid, dough". Hot chocolate may be described as "telo", but not melted chocolate, as it turn to be in the mouth.
