Porque 'os' es la forma dativa/acusativa del nominativo 'vosotros'. Es decir, 'os' significa 'a vosotros'.
'Nos' es la forma declinada (dativa/acusativa) que corresponde al nominativo del pronombre 'nosotros'. Equivale a 'a nosotros'.
Ambas formas también actúan como reflexivos cuando lo requiere el verbo. Ej.: ¿Os vais ya? Sí, ya nos vamos.
