How do you know which is the original translation? (I'm new)

I translated from Portuguese, which uses "her", and deveres can be either homework or chores.

The "original" is irrelevant. It might be 40 translations away so it's not worth investigating.
Here, I'm just considering the translation you did and I think that in the context, the translation you made is doubtful...
