I'm not a Tatar... :o And, honestly, I don't really care.
Хоч би горщиком назвали, аби тільки в піч не сували. I personally don't really care about such issues like "Беларусь" vs. "Белоруссия", "на Украине" vs. "в Украине"... So why should I care about "Tatar" vs. "Tartar"?
I think both variants are acceptable. Tatar is used more often, and it's how Tatars call their nationality, so probably it's better this way.

I think no.
But I may be mistaken.

Monic Dano doesn’t look like a Russian name. :o

I hope it will be compatible with Opera, will it? :E

+1
IMHO the logo should be translatable too.

If you have questions about Russian, please ask! ^^

Here’s the discussion over the Uzbek sentence:
http://tatoeba.org/sentences/show/395760

If you feel like doing so, please do. ^^ They’re in public domain, so you can do this.
But beware: some of them have been found to contain mistakes. :o E.g. see discussion over the Uzbek translation of the 1st sentence.

> (did the "boss" delete it?)
LOL
But yes, these translations are 100% useless and very strange, in the DB on their own :)

We will miss you :(

I think this issue has been raised very long ago, and Trang said that this might be done. :)
But I do agree it’s a good idea.
But the problem is: most people can’t easily enter these characters. So we have to add a way to enter them (maybe auto-replace script, like in Word)[1].
If we don’t add such a possibility, moderators will have to nag people about otherwise correct sentences even more often (aren’t full stops enough?).
________________
[1] This also should be carefully thought, because we have the language autodetection and can’t say what is correct while typing...
Punctuation must depend on the language.
I hate to see that most things printed in Belarusian have “these” quotes, that has almost fully replaced «these», used in the pase, before the advent of computers in typography. I believe the auto-replacement in Word is the culprit. :o

Hope you will come back! :)
Will you show us your programs when they're ready?

> If Tatoeba ever becomes like Facebook,
> I think I'm going to cry.
He-he. Intelligence agencies can use data from Tatoeba right now. ;)
</offtopic>

They are not public. :( I can’t open the page.
Please give us the right to view them.

This works for me.
But note you should click on the «Login» link, not open the «Login» login link in the new page. Then the form appears without opening a new page, and you are taken back after login.
At least this works for me...

Actually, I don’t think I’ve understood how this is going to work. :o

I totally agree. This is a problem indeed.
Ideally, tags should have much more functions than they have now: tag change history, metadata about tags, things like this.
But, since it’s too much work and we have too few programmers… :o I guess we have to wait for the new version of Tatoeba to appear (because, as far as I understand, sysko is reluctant to add too many features to the current version of Tatoeba, that will soon become obsolete). :(
Moderators can delete anyone’s tags, so you can write a comment, and probably someone will edit it. I suggest using a «@tagme» (or sth like this) tag to attract attention to sentences with wrong tags.

Yes, I think it’s a nice feature, but now we really lack programmers. Currently everybody is developing a new Python version of Tatoeba, and I guess you have to wait for this feature to appear.
Unfortunately, sysko (our main programmer) is very busy right now.
As a temporary measure, you can allow moderators to replace X-system to normal Esperanto letters in your sentences. (You can write what you allow moderators to do in your profile)
> Hm, as it seems that the working language here is english
Well, you might have written in French. :)
We don’t formally have a working language. You can write in any language.
But more people speak English, so you have to wait less for the answer. :)

‘English’ is for both American and British English.
Tatoeba can’t put 2 flags for one language, so we’re using only British Flag. Yes, this is a bit misleading; CK has already pointed this out.
Tags can be used to show that sentence is only American or only British.
Now we have the following tags:
American English: http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/sho...erican_English
American English Vocabulary: http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/sho...ish_Vocabulary
British English Vocabulary: http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/sho...ish_Vocabulary
British slang: http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/sho.../British_slang
American English Spelling: http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/sho...glish_Spelling
British Spelling: http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/sho...itish_Spelling
British_Spelling ‘re’: http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/sho..._Spelling__re_
British Spelling Double Ls: http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/sho...ling_Double-Ls
British Spelling of Dr: http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/sho...Spelling_of_Dr
British English Grammar: http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/sho...nglish_Grammar
If you want to add a tag to your sentence, and you are not a trusted user, write the tag you'd like to add in the comments

Furigana is not displayed on the list page, unlike CK’s tag page.
