Simply, I couldn't understand a dot :)
Is nutritious the same as good ?
Is ( in French ) "aliment" the same as "beverage" ?
By the way, I'm completly lost in here: Which one out of so many is the mother-sentence ? (:-)

I guess the original sentence is Japanese (from the Japanese-English Tanaka corpus). The corresponding English sentence must be No #19468, which was originally "Milk is a good food." (By the way that is exactly what Google Translate suggests from Japanese). The French, also dating from before the logs worked properly, is a translation thereof. Someone changed the English to "beverage" years later without comment.
Normally, the original sentence is the one with the lowest sentence number, but it seems this is not the case with these very old sentences.

Nutritious = has a lot of nutrients, is healthy for you.
I translated the Japanese sentence. The old translation, 'Milk is a good beverage', was inaccurate, because the Japanese sentence specifically refers to nutrition.

Dear brauchinet,
Thanks for your helping text ! A message was just written to friend Mrew2Vier so that the colaborator can revise his sentence ( granted that most of the translations are based on "food" ) I guess he or she will take a look .

Dear wells,
If you're right would all the other translations be inaccurate ? In my opinion nutritious is OK as to a description of the qualities of milk. Well I myself do not know the Japanese language. What I did was a mere comparision with a couple of translations, and saw that, mostly, the translations give: food.
Friendly.

The problem is that the original ja -> en translation was inaccurate, and the rest of the translations were based on the en translation.
I think this situation is fine, because the sentences are not directly linked to the Japanese sentence.
Perhaps the ja -> en translation should be unlinked. I'd like the opinion of a Japanese speaker on that.

Tks! Meanwhile let me have a glass of milk, which in the end jes is a very nutritious beverage as well a most appreiated food (:-)

Only if you can figure out a better translation for the Japanese.
