Oh, you're right. I was only looking at the beginning of the sentence. I cannot judge if the original 把 construction is natural and possible here. Both egg0073 and GlossaMatik have suggested a version without it. Before I make another wrong change — would 猫在桌子上睡觉。 be right for this sentence?
Going off of the English and Dutch sentences, I think it should be "那隻貓在桌上睡了覺。". But if the meaning is accurate I would say “貓在桌子上睡覺。" is perfectly fine.
我想这里的“把”应该是动词，想表达的应该是https://hanyu.baidu.com/zici/s?wd=%E6%8A%8A 第五点（紧靠）的意思，不过好像用得不太对。
